      Fort Mitchell Historic Site (Russell County, Alabama) The park features a reconstruction of the stockade fort that was an important post in the Creek War, a museum with exhibits about the fort's history and a collection of historic carriages, a restored 19th century log home, and a visitor center.   Wupatki National Monument is located in North Central Arizona near the town of Flagstaff. The park encloses archaeological sites from at least 3 distinct cultures, including the Cohonina, Kayenta Anasazi, and Sinagua. Wupatki Pueblo the ruin after which the monument is named is the oldest in the park and contained over rooms.

      In December of an early site was reported near Amory, Missis­ sippi. Two collectors had dug a large area and recovered artifacts from the earliest cultures known in the state. Archaeologists from the Mississippi Department of Archives and History visited the site and examined the two men1s collections. Archaeological Investigations Northwest, Inc.
