Wrath of Empire by @lan is the second book in the Gods of Blood and Powder trilogy, and was definitely a worthy sequel. Once again McClellan enriches the story from the first book, but also makes his characters grow in such a fantastic way/5. Wrath of Empire is an excellent followup to Sins of Empire, putting our protagonists through further trials and tribulations.

This book does have some of the "middle book" syndrome, whereby most plot points are not fully resolved. However, every plot thread is significantly advanced in satisfying ways/5().
